EPA commissioned study to determine the sources of coliform pollution within the Albemarle Sound to establish a basis for for introducing municipal sewer systems in towns and developments along the Outer Banks. Mike was in charge of preparing the digital and printed atlas of various contributing environmental conditions while with Claude Terry & Associates, Environmental and Energy Consultants. At the end of the project the data indicated that sources other than Island residential septic systems were contributing to coliform contamination.
